Video Conferencing on the road
Skype's free video calling technology has enabled us to incorporate free video Skype-Skype calls into Cabcast Advanced. If the passenger has a Skype account, they can attend business meetings hosted in China, or chat face-to-face with their loved ones at home in North London, right inside the vehicle.
Skype does not charge for use of its voice or video calling service. Using Cabcast Advanced's high-speed mobile internet connection, this is another innovative premium service to offer passengers.
Taxi WiFi
With Cabcast Basic and Cabcast Advanced, we can install a WiFi network into a fleet of vehicles. Using a high-speed 3G internet connection, fleet operators can offer their passengers internet access during their journey, with a premium price to use this service.
Motion Sensor
Both Cabcast Basic and Cabcast Advanced have been designed so that they work very efficiently. When the driver switches the engine on, the screens switch on - this saves the battery life of the vehicle and the backlight on the screens.
To increase efficiency even more, motion sensor Add-ons can be installed to power the screens on only when a passenger is sitting in front of the screen. When the passenger leaves the taxi, the screens automatically power off.
Manual Power-off
Certain private hire vehicle or taxi passengers may not wish to watch the content on Cabcast screens. To remedy this, a manual power-off button can be installed next to the driver seat as an Add-on to Cabcast Basic and Cabcast Advanced. After a preset time (20 minutes default), the screens will automatically power back on again.
